I love looking at wedding photographs.  I feel as though I am seeing the world through someone else’s eyes, someone who sees thing differently to the way I do, someone who – though a camera lens, can see beyond what’s obvious and capture those nuances and intimacies which hide in the shadows along with the magic and romance of  a wedding. I see this when I look at Sarah Gawler’s images.

Sarah was given her first SLR camera by her parents for her 18th birthday and no one was safe from her compusive photographing from that point on. After graduating with a degree in Fine Art Photography in 2003, Sarah went on to shoot professional family studio portraits and PR events. In 2005 she did her first wedding photography for a landscape photographer, who loved her pictures and gave her the encouragement that she needed to take up bridal photography. She has never looked back.

Sarah’s style is a combination of thoughtful, candid coverage with occasional, intuitive direction. Through these skills she is able to tell the story of the day with style & sensitivity and her joy in doing so is evident in each image.

Sarah is based in London, but travels nationally as well as abroad for her commissions, she also welcomes potential clients to meet and view her work and individually crafted storybook albums.
